Who We Are

Established in 2008, the Centre for Applied Research and Education in Indigenous, Rural, and Remote Settings, BU CARES Research Centre focuses its research activities on understanding and improving education for rural and Indigenous students. Dr. Lam, with her research assistants, collaborators, graduate and undergraduate students, and partners in the community are working to create, mobilize, and promote knowledge about education in rural and Indigenous communities through systematic, creative, and rigorous research projects. The Centre and its researchers have developed numerous partnerships with communities, not-for-profit organizations, school divisions, government and academic networks, and individuals through which their knowledge is enhanced and furthered through sharing and integration of multiple perspectives.
